HomeGrocer.com Continues LayOffs
HomeGrocer.com has laid off 100 more employees at its headquarters here, bringing the total to 150 jobs cut since the company was acquired by rival Webvan Group Inc. in September.

Riffage.com Pulls the Plug
Once promising online music label Riffage.com is closing its doors on Friday after failing to secure a buyer after its funding ran out.

HotOffice to go cold
The Boca Raton, Fla.-based company, which hosts Web-based intranets, told customers on Thursday that it is ceasing operations later this month. Blaming "market conditions" for its downfall, HotOffice directed customers to rival Intranets.com.

More layoffs at Internet services firms
Scient Corp. said yesterday it laid off 460 employees -- 25% of its workforce -- and expected to post a loss for the third quarter. The San Francisco-based consulting firm also said it will close its offices in Silicon Valley and in Austin,Texas.
